    Looking to compile a list of fanfic resources beyond the usual AO3 and FanFiction.net. What sites, forums, tools, or communities do you use or recommend? A few I know:

    • FanFiction net, Archive of Our Own.
    • Questionable Questing, Sufficient Velocity, Space Battles forums.
    • Webnovel, ScribbleHub, Wattpad, Royal Road.
    • fichub.net, ficdb.net, HPFanfiction Recommender (https://hpffrec.hackesta.org).
    • Dark Lord Potter forum for dark Harry Potter fics (also has sections for other fandoms and off‑topic).
    • Goodreads, StoryGraph (not great for fics). I use Calibre to track reads + FanFicFare to get EPUBs.
    • Various fanfic subreddits and lots of Discord servers (r/DarkFics, The Dark Wolf Shiro server for gamer fics). I wish I knew a discord for dark fics.
    • Lemmy instance https://literature.cafe. Would love a Lemmy instance for fanfic specifically. and I would like to know which NodeBB communities there are for fanfic specifically or literature in general.
    • My reading list.

    Anything of relevance I missed?

    Fanfic wise I actually have community.fanbards.net for general fan related content. community.evamadeonline.com for Evangelion specific content, and community.starbase-42.com for Star Trek. Been trying to work on ideas for story archiving using Drupal, Wordpress, and some original projects at storytellerarchive.com but all my drupal pages are down at the moment as I migrate servers.

    Good evening everyone.
    Mobilizon is an interesting alternative to EventBrite developed by the French collective Framasoft.
    I recently noticed that NodeBB can't see #Mobilizon events.
    Of course, I didn't expect NodeBB to be able to see and manage events (mark them as accepted, rejected, or "unclear"), like Friendica, for example.
    Mastodon, however, while it can't "manage" events, can view them and allows you to follow the users who publish them.

    I've noticed that NodeBB can't see Friendica events either, nor those produced by the federated platform "Gancio."

    Can anyone explain to me what could be causing this incompatibility? Is it a "protection" feature of NodeBB, or a problem with the format in which #ActivityPub events are published?

    @informapirata I am not certain whether Mobilizon publishes FEPs for how they use the Event activity. That would help, otherwise I would be reverse engineering their implementation, and that is not the easiest approach.

    Can you try something for me... Can you restart NodeBB, and then search the direct post ID instead? (The one displayed in the log snippet you sent)

    @julian sure, done a ./nodebb stop and ./nodebb start but searching for https://www.lealternative.net/?p=64428 always gives me "no results".

    I have a very odd problem with my new NodeBB forum.
    All static images (such as profile pictures and the favicon) will randomly disappear from time-to-time, only for all of it to come back a few hours or days later.
    Nobody in this first image has a profile picture. This is from the first disappearance of all static images. Manually uploading new profile pictures or a new favicon asset simply does nothing and keeps the default NodeBB placeholders.

    This second image is from when it all came back a few days later (including the favicon).

    The logs in the admin dashboard reveal nothing other than an error related to the Harmony theme (which I am not using).
    Any ideas for what may be the cause as well as the solution? All feedback is greatly appreciated, because I'm at a loss.

    Hello everyone.

    I am making two-factor authentication mandatory for all Mods and Admins. This is so we can try and prevent someone from getting access to the backend, at least as much as possible for a small forum community.

    I haven't made it mandatory for regular users, however there is an option for them in the profiles.

    Anyone who gets picked for mods will be required to activate 2FA.

    Security is important.
