The overriding sense one gets while watching this is, "Well, they're just making stuff up now and pretending it holds water." It really doesn't. But I have to admit that I respect the commitment to the sheer insanity of the concept, even if the effort and seam-hiding are lacking. ska for that last one, it is because there is no sentence to parse out. For some posts they are not structured in a way that makes it easy to generate a title. I will try to improve things over time.

This is a pretty huge oversight... it sounds like the first edition neox will need constant upkeep like a bike chain, etc! Quite a departure from the typical "throw it in your bag" grigri.

If you want to stop AI crawlers, you can stop the good ones using robots.txt https://github.com/ai-robots-txt/ai.robots.txt If you want to stop the bad ones (which you probably do)... you can't They masquerade as legitimate users, and they have more funding behind them than you have time. Every time you try to block them someone on the other end will adapt. Unfortunately right now the only reliable solution is a hard challenge from CloudFlare for nearly all requests.

informapirata indeed! This is configurable under the site-wide ActivityPub settings under "auto categorization rules". For that site I have hashtags like "ActivityPub" and "fedimod" set up to automatically categorize discussions. It only matches for discussions that don't already have a category of their own (so, microblog stuff.)

informapirata I am not certain whether Mobilizon publishes FEPs for how they use the Event activity. That would help, otherwise I would be reverse engineering their implementation, and that is not the easiest approach.

Yeah that's a tricky one, because edits propagate only to those who have interacted with the post, and I'm not able to send it to boost recipients or those who load the post directly.

May I ask why this FEP is finalized? There haven’t been any implementors (except for Fedify, above?) who have submitted comments about this.I’m attempting to implement Litepub-style relay consumption as per this FEP, and there is no guidance on what state is supposed to be, besides being hardcoded pending when sending the follow, and cancelled when Undoing.

Well, the whole idea behind them being resolvable is so that when they are acted upon (by the context owner), they can be queried. For example if I receive a Delete(Context), I'll resolve it to find the root level post, and from there find my local representation, and delete it, assuming the actor was allowed to delete it. They're only server generated views per current usage... but why do they have to be constrained to that usage?

We have just released v4.6.0 of NodeBB, containing fixes to our ActivityPub integration, minor fixes with SCSS, and some new functionality with topic templating. ActivityPub Fixes WordPress blogs can be properly pulled into NodeBB (via their URL) now Fixed an error when moving a remote topic to another category This also fixed the issue where moved topics didn't update topic/post counters Fixed bug where NodeBB could not properly process Link headers when it contained the standalone crossorigin directive Notifications for replies to topics made in remote categories now show the appropriate user Fixed bug where remote users were not able to post to a local category if registered-users privilege was removed (now checks fediverse pseudo-user) Nested remote categories can now be removed from the ACP Remote categories can be renamed for de-duplication purposes Improved title generation for quote-posts Core fixes Persona theme now shows hidden (zero-character) links in post content _variables.scss page in ACP > Appearance can now override Bootstrap variables A template can be provided in a category's settings. This template is auto-populated in the composer when a new topic is being authored.
